Google just released some hot new images of Android L – here’s how you can get them

Android fans who want to get a further glimpse at Google’s new Android L release can now do so, but only if they own a Nexus 5 or a Nexus 7. Droid Life points out that the latest Google Fit preview SDK contains some added images of the latest Android L developer preview that should give you an even better idea of how Google is working to refine its next major software release.

To take a look at the new images for yourself, you’ll have to go to the Google developers’ page and download the new Google Fit preview SDK onto either your Nexus 5 or Nexus 7. Sadly, these are the only two devices that will run the preview at this time, as Google won’t even let you download them if you run a Google Play Edition of a phone such as the Galaxy S4 or the HTC One.

Droid Life has also put together a handy step-by-step guide for anyone who wants to know how to flash factory images, which should be a big help to anyone who’s trying it for the first time. What’s more, Droid Life says that it expects the new images to be available at the Android L preview site but notes that Google hasn’t added them yet as of this writing.

Android L is the most ambitious release that Google has developed since it first released Android 4.1 Jelly Bean back in 2012. Among other things, the new build features a beautiful design makeover centered around Google’s new Material Design UI. Because of this, Android L is a hugely anticipated new release and we can’t wait to try it out when it officially launches this fall.
