Google And ASUS Launch The Chromebit, The $85 Chrome OS Desktop On An HDMI Stick

Today, Google and ASUS announced the release of Chromebit – A Chrome OS based computer on an HDMI stick that works on computers and TV’s with the HDMI port.

The Chromebit is a $85 stick,75 gram which is bigger than the Chromecast. It has 16GB onboard storage and 2GB of RAM.

It comes with a dedicated charger, and also has a USB port, unlike the Chromecast. So allowing you to connect your bluetooth mouse, keyboard and other peripherals to it.

You can pretty much run any web app on it, as it let you play movies and TV shows from Netflix, Hulu, Google Play and likes.

It can also work as a media center in living rooms or turning your screen into a useable desktop.
